Head impacts on young teens: New device?

Just recently, people have been talking about a hot topic in sports, especially with football; concussions.  Head impacts have been a very hot topic in the news because most people do not know they have a concussion at times and they continue to play the sport.  Teens are very much so known for going and not saying how bad they got hit or if there head hurts etc... But, there was a study done for teens especially, it's a device that goes on a helmet and it detects how hard of a hit a person has suffered.  I think this is extremely important because teens don't really care and what to continue playing after taking a big blow to the head.  This could potentially save a persons life.  Do you think this could be something to consider for you being a Physical Education teacher?

  1. I know for specifically they have been performing this study for helmets for women's lacrosse to see if they will prevent concussions because so many players in women's lacrosse take a hard check to the head or they take a blow to the head from someone shooting! I think in Physical Education this would be helpful!
