I know this isn't really a post about Health. But, I came across this in the news this week and it completely shocked the hell out of me. So, there is a new game that kids came up with and it's called "knockout". It's a game that teens made up to see how fast and how hard they can knock a random person out with one punch. This is sickening!!! I can't believe teenagers are making up this game. Literally, they walk around the streets and they pick a random person on the street and they go up to them and with one punch, they knock them out. In some of these cases, there are times that they actually kill the person because they have no idea what they suffer already. There was a case of this homeless guy, that the teens knockout and prior to the hit, he suffered brain injuries already and by knocking him out, he ended up having a seizure and he was pinned up again a wrought iron fence and the fence went through his body and killed him. These teens are being caught because of surveillance videos on the streets and they are being arrested and charged. But, they need to stop! I can't believe teenagers are doing this to people. I will share the link below so you can read more about it!

NYC first state to raise smoking age to 21!
Yes, this is true, New York is the first state to raise the smoking age to 21. What do you think!? I personally think that it's a good idea because if you can't buy alcohol until you're 21 than you shouldn't be able to buy cigarettes until you're 21. There are too many teens across the United States that are dying because of bad habits. One bad habit is smoking. Deaths and these bad habits can be stop just by a little enforcement by the law. I think this was perfect for New York to do and hopefully many states will follow them.
E-Cigs?
For many people out there in the world, there has been a new item out on the market for smokers. They are called E-Cigs or "electronic cigarettes". These E-cigs are a new item that smokers are using now instead of regular cigarettes. E-Cigs can be used in public places and non-smoking area. They are better for you than regular cigarettes because it helps you stop smoking real cigarettes. But, recently, scientists are stating that E-Cigs can be worse, or even just as bad for you as regular cigarettes. I personally do not smoke but I think it's interesting because I know a lot of people that smoke and they say that the E-Cig is helping them to stop smoking when really, it's not. What are your thoughts?

Head impacts on young teens: New device?
Just recently, people have been talking about a hot topic in sports, especially with football; concussions. Head impacts have been a very hot topic in the news because most people do not know they have a concussion at times and they continue to play the sport. Teens are very much so known for going and not saying how bad they got hit or if there head hurts etc... But, there was a study done for teens especially, it's a device that goes on a helmet and it detects how hard of a hit a person has suffered. I think this is extremely important because teens don't really care and what to continue playing after taking a big blow to the head. This could potentially save a persons life. Do you think this could be something to consider for you being a Physical Education teacher?

2 year old smoking cigarettes, what could be worse?
A few years ago, there was an article and a news brief about a 2 year old boy smoking 40 cigarettes per day. You think things would change between then and now. Well, here to come up again the same 2 year old boy is now 5 years old, has now quit smoking the cigarettes and is now obsessed with junk food. He is 5 years old and is 56 pounds. What is going on in this world!! Crazy!!!
Birth Control and Glaucoma
Just recently, people started to study about the birth control pills. Here, they found out that over a long-term period of taking birth control pills, it could link to possible glaucoma- the leading cause of blindness. The study was determined to affect women who are over the age 40. They did this study on 3,000 women who did a couple tests, including an eye exam that showed that women who took birth control pills for over 3 years doubled their risk of Glaucoma. How would you react to this? If you are currently on birth control pills, do you think this could affect you in a way? Share your thoughts at your own risk!
